Spring League - Home Teams / Rules

Home teams responsible for field set-up.  This means cones at each corner of field.  Cones around table at midfield between teams for substitution area. Home team responsible for timer and scorekeeper. Each region should have a “card table” for the timer and scorekeeper and chairs. Each region will have a “Game Box”. Boxes contain first aid kit, one bottle of water, air horn, extra mouth guards, game balls, stop watch.
NOTE: Last team to play at their home field is responsible for picking up the game box, table, cones, etc and returning it to area coordinator BEFORE the next series of games.

Rain Policy: For games where CCGLL is the home team, a make up game will be re-scheduled through Calvert County Parks and Recreation. Coaches will be notified by Tuesday of dates and times. For games played in St. Mary's County, rain make ups may be scheduled if Calvert field is available. St. Mary's teams/coaches may choose to participate or not in the rain make up game at their coach's discretion.

Rules for Pee Wees:
1. Play is 8 v 8 including goalie. Positions are commonly 2Attack/3Middie/2Defense. There are no regulation restraining lines; therefore it is possible to play all 7 girls in the Offensive/Defensive ends.
2. No checking.   8M shots may only occur on a major foul if there is a goalie or modified goal opening.
3. "3 Seconds" or "Position to check rule":  No holding the ball for more than 3 seconds when closely guarded/marked AND the defense has both hands on the stick AND is in position to administer a legal check if checking were permitted.  This is a subjective call based on the official's observation.
4. Game time is 2 -  20 minute running halves.  Clock stops on every whistle inside 2 minutes of each half.
5. 1 COMPLETED pass is required before a shot on goal.  Goalie clear DOES NOT COUNT AS A COMPLETED PASS.
6. All players, coaches and spectators are expected to follow the ROOTS - respect the game guidelines. Each team (home and away) will assign a sideline manager to control actions of spectators not meeting the ROOTS standards of positive play.
7. Calvert vs. Calvert teams will keep score at the Pee Wee level. St. Mary's teams have opted not to keep score. Please be considerate when hosting or visiting a neighbor's team.

Midget and Juniors
1. Play is 12 v 12 including goalie.
2. Modified checking when crosse (Head) of stick is below the shoulder level. Check must be completed in a downward motion AWAY from the player.
3. Game is time is 2 - 25 minute running halves. Clock stops on every whistle inside 2 minutes of each half.
4. All players, coaches and spectators are expected to follow the ROOTS - respect the game guidelines. Each team (home and away) will assign a sideline manager to control spectators not meeting the standards of positive play.
